There’s a good chance you’ve never been to Kansas. I can’t say as I blame you. It’s a flyover state. Not much goes on here. It’s not my home state, but I’ve lived here now since 1999. It’s more home to me than anywhere else I’ve ever lived. One of the first things I fell in love with here is the wide open sky, and the vastness of the flat land. There’s nothing quite like traveling along dirt roads in the dead heat of the summer. You can go for miles without meeting another car.
Time Tested is a 16×20 inch abstract landscape painting on canvas. Dark blue sky, and red land. I was thinking of the milo fields in August when I painted this one. It’s a mixed media painting painted with palette knives. It has collage paper throughout to give it it texture. It’s available for purchase here.
