I’ve been drawing a lot with charcoal lately. Just super fast line drawings that take a minute or less to do. I don’t like spending time drawing. For me, it’s all about the paint and painting.
Have I ever told you that I draw better with my left hand, but when I paint I usually use my right? (although..there are several paintings I’ve done where my right hand was being a lazy slob, and simply refused to do any work at all, and my left hand was forced to take over haha true story!!)
work in progress
I’m not sure why I chose to draw with one hand and paint with the other, but it seems most comfortable and natural to me. I can write with either hand, but I usually use my right. If I had sight in my left eye, things would probably be different. My mother was left handed, as is my son. I assume I inherited it from her, and passed it on to him. Everything I learned how to do as a child, I learned left handed, so it comes easy for me.
I have two mice hooked up to my computer. One for my right hand, and one for the left. 🙂 I use both all day long, depends on whichever hand reaches out to grab one first. My son scoffs at my left handed mouse, and refuses to use it. He also insists on playing guitar right handed. It’s a right handed world, and he’s learned to adapt. Yet, when we sit next to each other at the dinner table, I’ll eat with my left hand, so we don’t keep bumping elbows. Being ambidextrous comes in handy (har har). 😉 I prefer to eat left handed anyway, so it works for us.
