How to pin your photos from Instagram to Pinterest
Beckon
In Japan, employees occasionally work themselves to death. It’s called Karoshi. I don’t want that to happen to anybody in my department. The trick is to take a break as soon as you see a bright light and hear dead relatives beckon.
Scott Adams
I found the quote after titling the painting. There’s is something about the center of the painting that makes me want to walk closer to it to get a better look, so I named it Beckon. The quote struck me quite funny because that’s how I feel about painting..I’ll still be doing it on my deathbed. I suppose I am working myself to death because I never plan on retiring. I have the best job in the world. Why would I want to stop?
The painting can be hung either side up. I keep going back and forth on which way I like better, so you’ll have to decide for yourself.

New print sizes to fit every wall and why I don’t ship prints overseas
Flower Series 150
Fine art giclee prints are available here.
I used to offer only a couple different print sizes, but I recently made a big change to my Etsy listings in both shops. Sizes now start at 4×4 inches, and go up as large as 30×30 inches on square prints. Rectangle prints start at 5×7 inches and go up to 24×30 inches. I realize more than ever before that not everyone has the same size wall space to fill. Some have a giant space. Others might have a narrow wall, and they’re looking to fill it with a row of small square prints. I totally get that, and I hope this change I made suits not only your needs, but your wallet as well. I’ve made the prints affordable for everyone.
Another recent change I made is I’m now shipping prints to Canada. Yay, Canada!! 🙂
Unfortunately, I’m still not shipping prints overseas due to the risk of damage to the print while in transit. All I can imagine is how disappointing it would be to wait for weeks to get a print only to have it show up bent, torn or crushed, and it happens. Prints are fragile. Some people would be quick to blame the seller if a print showed up mangled, instead of the USPS (I see this happen alllll the time). I don’t want to receive negative feedback on Etsy for something that is completely out of my control. At the same time, I can certainly understand how frustrating it would be to wait another 3 or 4 weeks for a replacement print to arrive. It seems like too much trouble to go through for everyone involved, so I made the decision not to ship prints overseas years ago. Original paintings = worldwide shipping. Prints = US and Canada only.

Sunday in the studio
It’s bitter cold outside today. The high is only going to be 33F, and the wind sends a chill right through me. I let the dog out, and rushed back inside. That will probably do it for me today. Last weekend it was near 80F, and I spent a lot of time out on the back porch, reading. Really crazy winters we have here, but I’m used to it. I’m staying indoors and painting today.
Mourning dove sitting on a branch outside my studio window. I love being up here in the trees.
If you have time this weekend, you should watch the documentary, Cutie and the Boxer on Netflix. I watched it for the second time last night. I even managed to drag my husband away from his video games, which is never easy. 🙂 He really liked it.
I just made it to over 100 likes on my new FB page. Woo hoo! I should do a giveaway! Have you liked my page yet? I’ll be announcing what I’m giving away sometime next week. You don’t want to miss it. (hint: it might be an original painting)
