This looks like hard candy I used to get at Christmas as a kid. Or maybe taffy?

He who is not courageous enough to take risks
will accomplish nothing in life.

I’m going to start off with the negative today. I don’t like this painting, but it’s in my art journal, so what does it matter? There no rush to get it finished, so I’m going to take my time. Maybe get back to it in a month or three..who knows? That’s what so cool about having art journals. No pressure. Who cares..it’s just a cheapo book that I use as my playground for experiments anyway.
I know what it is..it’s that weird dark blue green color that I dislike the most. I knew I should have used my go-to colors, but I started this out with chalk and/or pastels, if I remember right, and I began by using the first piece I picked up. It’s kinda fun to do mystery paintings like this sometimes..just close your eyes, and grab a couple colors out of the drawer, and start there by putting down a layer of marks. I like to fill the entire page or canvas, as you can see, and then figure the rest out later as I go along.
I’m pretty sure the page won’t stay like this forever. Three days in, and it’s only the beginning. It definitely needs more layers to cover up that blue if nothing else. I’ll probably add words or maybe a portrait painting to it at some point. For now, I’ve had enough, and I’m ready to move on.
