haha..yup. Nothing’s changed. She jumped up in my lap a couple days ago, and before I even had time to pet her, she sliced my wrist open with her claws. Then she jumped down, and scurried away..fast as she could. I jumped up, and ran to the bathroom to wash the blood off. LOL Ooooh, that girl!! There’s never a dull moment with her around. I still don’t know what I did to piss her off..I was just quietly reading a book. 🤣😂😺

Woman in Quarantine
I’ve added some to my collection of new work.
Just as soon as I’m finished tweaking them,
I’m going to start listing them here.

I created this silly one after working on the others. I didn’t like the way I had originally painted her face, so I thought, what can I do to make it better? Ah..I know! Better, indeed!
I’m not sure if I’m going to make prints of these.
If so,
it will be a while..
unless you contact me,
and tell me you want one.
Then I’ll make it a priority.
🙂
My mojo is returning
For the first time in forever, I’m starting to feel productive again. Haven’t been able to paint for more than a couple minutes here and there because my concentration has been so poor. I also haven’t done much painting outside of my art journals, so this is a major improvement. I’ll let you know when these paintings are available for purchase. I’m still adding a few finishing touches.

One thing I did last week to make myself feel better was shut the news off. I’ve felt like a deer frozen in headlights for weeks, couldn’t do much except stare at the screen. Five to ten minutes a day to look at the headlines is plenty. I get the gist of what’s going on.
Chewy’s pillow of the day
I think listening to the two podcasts below by Rafi and Klee helped me put things in perspective. I, like Klee, was very informed..too informed, and I felt crappy because there was nothing I could do to help. I went through an “I’m just an artist..my life is meaningless” phase, also.

Okay then
…and then, I have nature and art and poetry, and if that is not enough, what is enough?
Vincent van Gogh
It snowed last night, and it’s so weird because it only snowed on one of my chairs..the one I always sit in, of course. lol There’s no snow on the ground anywhere or in the other chairs…just my chair. What? And, I’m not talking about a dusting. I’m talking about an inch or more of snow in my chair.
This all has seemed like a low budget sucky movie or a bad acid trip from the start, and it just gets weirder by the day. I mean..how?? Why?? A snow cloud formed over my chair, and dumped on it? Well, okay, then..

I’m so lucky
all my pets love to snuggle.
What I’m reading: A blog post by Amy..Drawing to Calm Anxiety – which is an excellent way to be present in the moment. I do this all the time when I’m painting in my art journals.
What I’m watching: still making my way through Succession..I’m kinda slow at getting around to watch it because I have to commit to an hour of sitting still, and pay attention, but I absolutely LOVE it. The only problem is now I’ll have to order HBO when a new season comes out, but I knew that going in. It’s worth it, tho.
Have a great weekend. Stay safe and healthy. xo

Making a print in my art journal
Remember how I used to not like purple so much? Well, working in this art journal with all the dark purple construction paper has changed my mind. I’ve been really enjoying making prints on these pages.
I’ve also come to the conclusion that pink (my fav color) actually goes quite well with purple (duh)..so purple and I are friends again. Yay! 😀
Have a great Monday. See you tomorrow.
