It took me the longest time to discover her white mustache, but once I did, I can’t not see it now. Must be the artist in me.

This painting, titled Caught Up in Whimsy is available in my shop.
It went from raining for 2 solid months to HOT, sunny, and humid, just like that. Oh, snap! Had to turn the air on for the first time last week. I can’t complain, we’ve turned it on in February before. This year, we actually had springlike weather, and a nice long break from the heat. I promised my husband this year that I would lay off the moaning and groaning about how hot it is. He LOVES summer. Me, I could skip over the entire season, and be happy as a lark (an old saying my grandmother used to say). I’m going to stay positive though. I am!! I’m going to take 5 showers a day, and I’m not going to complain. Yeah, sure. haha
You are the sky. Everything else – it’s just the weather.

The secret to so many artists living so long is that every painting is a new adventure. So, you see, they’re always looking ahead to something new and exciting. The secret is not to look back. -Norman Rockwell
I got interrupted when I was painting this one, so I don’t think she’s finished yet. Although, I’m tempted to leave her this way. I like the dramatic colors, and scowl on her face. It tells a story. I’m not sure what just yet, but I’m sure if I thought about it for a minute, I could come up with something.

This wintry vision I have in my head comes from a vivid memory I have of my Mom, and how she would tell me to stand outside in the snow with a tiny piece of bread on my hand. She said if I was quiet and still enough, a bird would land on me, and I would get to feed him. aw! How I wanted that to happen!! This is the 14th time I’ve painted this painting, but it’s the first time I’ve ever painted it this large. I usually paint these on either 8×10 or 9×12 canvas. It seems that every time I paint it, my vision/memory changes slightly. The last few I’ve painted, the girls have insisted on wearing party dresses, and I have no idea why. I just do what they tell me to do.
I’m very open to payment plans or layaways. Please contact me, and let me know what works for you, and I’ll put this painting on hold for you. We can set up weekly, bi-weekly or monthly payments. Your choice!!
