Rose No 2
Oil portrait painting

A customer of mine, a couple months ago, suggested that I paint a portrait, and title it Rose. I was chatting with her about the painting she had bought, which was about a memory I have of my mother. Out of the blue, she mentioned she loved the name Katherine Rose. I told her Rose was my mother’s middle name, and of course, she already knew my name is Katherine. That’s when she suggested I paint “Rose”. So, now I have painted her, twice. I am keeping the first one for myself, but there are prints available. if you’d like one. This is my Rose No 2, which is an oil portrait painting.

Rose doesn’t look anything like my mother did, but I didn’t want her to.
