This week is going by quickly, and I have a lot of unfinished work to get done. I’m popping in just for a second to share these art journal pages I created.
The way I’ve been using this art journal is I prep the pages ahead of time with paint. When I used to paint a lot, I would keep my art journal beside me, and wipe the extra paint on my brushes off on the pages before sticking them in the water bucket. It kept my water cleaner, plus I wasted less paint.
Then when I sit down to draw, I look for little clues in the paint. A dark spot of paint can become an eye or the way the paint dried can become the outline of a face. It’s a fun way to intuitively create something from nothing, which I love to do. I just let my imagination take over, like a child, and get lost in the process.
I didn’t notice the purple paint streak on this page, but looking at it now, I’m thinking of turning it into a bouquet of flowers she’s holding.

I hope you’re having a lovely creative week. I hope you find time to make some silly art.
