There are some griefs so loud they can bring down the sky, and there are griefs so still none knows how deep they lie.

Day 263
I’m going to offer this one for prints as soon as I get my new camera’s remote in the mail. It’s nearly impossible to take high res photos for prints without a remote, and the one that came with the camera didn’t work.
I do offer a print like this one here, if you’re interested.
Turns out I had to spend almost $50 (!!) for a remote that’s bluetooth because it’s the only one that will work with this camera. That’s quite a chunk of change considering most universal remotes are less than $10. I can’t say I’m happy about the added expense, especially since I was led to believe a working remote came with the camera bundle, but whatever.
I’m going to suck it up because returning the camera would be more of a pain than buying a remote and waiting it to come in the mail. Also, I like the camera, so I won’t bitch..too much. My overall rating goes from 5 stars down to 4, tho. You shouldn’t mislead your customers. I probably would have chosen a different camera had I known what I was getting into.

Day 264
Most photos you see here will continue to be taken with my iphone. I got the new camera mainly to take hi res photos for prints, so I’ve decided the camera will be housed downstairs near my photography table, not in my studio. I want to keep it pristine, and avoid getting it splattered in paint. My phone has a metal case that’s easy to clean, so I’m not worried about it.
Tiger got to hunt, bird got to fly;
Man got to sit and wonder ‘why, why, why?’
Tiger got to sleep, bird got to land;
Man got to tell himself he understand.

lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
memory and desire, stirring
dull roots with spring rain.

Day 265
Hope you’re having a great Monday. I got a new book (We Were Liars by E. Lockhart) to read yesterday. I love the jagged style of writing so much, I’m already on Chapter 22. It helps that the chapters are super short, which holds my attention better, too. I don’t like making huge commitments when it comes to my free time, so short is best. I like to pack as much as possible into a small time frame. Heck, I found out I can knock off a chapter or two during a commercial break, so I can watch tv (Comey interview last night), and read at the same time. Love that! I wish more books were written like this one.
Finally tried Generals Multipastels for the first time, and I like them. I bought this packet over a year ago at Blick. I’m notorious for buying new things, and then never using it. I usually just grab my old favorite go-to art supplies when I paint.

Chew Chew and Har Bear
upside down staring into each others eyes
It’s nice to see them surrendering with bellies up like this because these two basically want to kill each other all day, errry day.
I spend all my time breaking up fights. :/
So, it means a lot that at the end of the day, they’re friends..sometimes.

There are a hundred valid reasons why something can’t be done,
but only one reason, Commitment, why it can.

103 left in the 365 day daily painting project. This week I’m feeling slightly more rested, and less burnt out. I milked this art journal page a bit by spreading it out over 3 days, and I don’t feel an ounce of guilt. Sure, I could have finished it all in one sitting, but I’ve learned that it’s quite okay to pace myself during this year long painting journey.

Linking to PPF
I don’t like these two pages, so I’ll be changing them soon. This was basically what I call I’m super busy, so I have to do something super fast for my daily painting project. Or, you could consider it my first layer, and there will be more to come.

The weather here has been so nice. As I’m writing this, it’s 78F, and the sun couldn’t shine any brighter. I’m having a hard time focusing on work. I just want to be outside romping around, so I’m going to whip this post up as fast as possible. I want to get on with things because by the time this posts it will be nightfall, and I want to have something to look back on the day besides writing a blog post, sitting at my computer or being locked in the studio. Spring fever. I have it, and it ain’t letting go.
