Yay..it’s Monday!!! :))) Monday is by far my favorite day of the week. How many people do you know who say that? Probably not many, sadly. Most everyone hates their job. But, the way I look at it, I have 5 long days in front of me to get lost in the process of creating. I wonder what I’ll paint this week. hm..it’s always a mystery to me until my brush is moving around on the canvas. Can’t wait to get started. I’ll see you tomorrow!!

This is another quick journal page that I did. I ripped a picture out of a magazine, and painted over it. She looks completely different than she did. The best magazine to do this with, in my opinion, is Vogue or any fashion magazine. I really LOVE all the ads in them.

I got rid of the bright blue background, and it’s now gray with a slight hint of slate blue.

Kinda funny story..I have painted A LOT of paintings with bright blue backgrounds, but I have absolutely no idea why. Maybe someone said they liked the color, so I started using it all the time? Maybe I thought I was painting bright blue sky or maybe it just became a habit? I don’t know, but I have never been fond of the color blue, unless it was a darker shade. Slate blue or Payne’s gray, yes. Bright blue, no.

One day my sister-in-law asked me if blue was my favorite color. I said, no. I thought to myself, I don’t even like blue, why is she asking me that? That’s when it hit me that almost every painting I painted had a bright blue background. Duh! lol I stopped using that horrid shade of bright blue that very day.

It’s suppose to be 60F over the weekend, so my beloved snow won’t be around much longer. sniff sniff.

Soon, these two are going to be snuggled up together, and I can’t wait to get that shot. Until then, they’re butt buddies.

My Pinterest account got hacked the other day. Who would hack Pinterest, and why?? I mean, it’s not like they got any personal info by hacking me. They put up a board called “this is great” and pinned one thing to it. I deleted it without looking at it, so I don’t know what it was. They changed my website url, and said I lived in Paris, France. Cute, right? If you saw that weird stuff going on, it wasn’t me. If you clicked on that website link, you probably should do a virus scan. I have no idea what it was they linked to because I didn’t click on it, but it probably wasn’t good. :/ Luckily, Pinterest caught what was going on, and locked my account before they were able to do much damage.

Did you know that Dick Blick is having a big sale? I always wait for sales, and buy in bulk, so I can get free shipping. I never pay full price for art supplies that way. Artists need all the breaks they can get. Art supplies aren’t cheap, says the art supply junkie, who just spent $300 at Blick a couple weeks ago. Ow!

Look at that little kitty belly. Aww!!!

So, I was minding my own business yesterday, and Sweet Pea wanted to come up in my lap. I said, sure sure. She was all happy, and purring. I was in my own little world watching a Youtube video, and next thing I knew she grabbed my face with her paw, claws OUT, and she bit down into my jaw. She made this weird howling noise as she did it, and it really frightened me. ???!!! I have no idea what makes her go crazy like that out of the blue. I was screaming. I think it startled me more than hurt. I put her down on the floor, and she went into the other room. I glanced out at her a few minutes later, and she was sitting there licking the wall like it was an ice cream cone. Lick, lick, lick, lick. Something ain’t right with that cat. Maybe she’s got cabin fever or something?

There was a street there the other day, it’s all gone now. The high was 7F yesterday, and 11F today. I’m trying to stay warm by my only source of fire.

I spent about half an hour yesterday editing a new painting video. I’m getting much faster at editing now, and actually like doing it. I usually do a painting in one sitting..just turn the camera on, and I don’t stop until I’m finished. That makes it a lot easier to edit. The hardest part is finding music. Look for the new video on Youtube later this morning.

So, Big Red Fred started this new thing last week. He no longer responds when we call him Fred or Frederick. He wants to be called Freddy.

Greg: Fred, you wanna go out?
Fred: No response
Me: You have to call him Freddy
Greg: Oh, yeah. Freddy, you wanna go out?
Fred jumps up, and runs to the door.
Greg: Guess we gotta call him Big Red Freddy now. No more Big Red Fred.

That dog has a mind of his own.
