I started a bird series last month, a little practice run before doing the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge. At the time, I thought I would paint birds for the entire 30 days, but after finishing 4 of them, I thought, do I really want to paint only birds for 30 days??! I decided against it. I have three new series started, and I need the freedom to work in whichever I choose at the moment. So my theme is now birds, flowers, and other still life painted with palette knives.

These series will be ongoing, and I have set up a shop just for my new palette knife paintings. You can see the entire series there. Isn’t it pretty? 🙂 I’m quite pleased with my new work, and want to continue on in this direction. How many birds will I end up painting before I’m done? I would tell you, but I’m sorry, I can’t count that high yet. I’m sure there will be many.
