If you want to be happy, be.
Another week is coming to an end. I don’t know how time flies by so fast, but it sure does. It doesn’t feel like I got a lot accomplished this week, but when I started adding it all up, I guess I did more than I thought.
I got most of the unpacking finished up..finally!! I found my Canon camera batteries, and chargers, which I’ve been looking for about a month now. Such a relief! The battery in my camera was flashing red, and about to die. I had planned on working in the studio today, but decided I had better spend time getting organized instead.
As soon as I get the batteries charged, I’ll take pics of the new painting series I started..I think I got 15 of them finished this week. I’ve been working on them late into the night, almost every night, except for one night. I fell into bed at 8:15 Thursday night, and was sound asleep within seconds..I slept for 11 hours, and it was pure bliss. It’s quite possible another early night is in my immediate future. I’m exhausted.

I finished painting the bottom kitchen cabinets that I wrote about last week. The top cabinets I hope to get done over the weekend sometime.
I decided I am going to paint my kitchen butcher block countertops, after reading this blog post, so I ordered the paint on Amazon. It just happened to be one of those add on specials, so I got it super cheap. Yes!!
I’m still trying to find a happy balance between working in the studio, office, and on the new house. Next week, getting artwork ready for one of the licensing companies I work with is going to be my top priority. There might not be a blog post because this will be my main focus. We’ll see.
Custom portrait paintings by Katie Jeanne Wood
I finished up the two custom portrait paintings I was working on, and got them shipped out on Wednesday. It’s always a wonderful feeling to have a happy client at the end of the day. 🙂
If you’d like to hire me to paint your loved ones, please check out my custom painting page. I updated it yesterday with more info, lots of new sizes, and new pricing. I’m now offering a small 4×4 inch size because I want to make custom work more affordable. Prices are the same as the prices in my Etsy shop..for now. I normally charge 2 to 3x more for custom work, so be sure to get in on this great deal while you can. It probably won’t last long.
Old Country Portraits is a hauntingly, beautifully written poem by Richard Robbins. I have chills.
