This week I’ve been tackling a stack of paintings that have been sitting around waiting to be revised. I had started to revise this girl a few months back, but never finished it. I forgot to take a photo of it before I started painting..this was about 10 minutes in, and it had completely changed.
Her nose was bugging me, so I blocked it out, and started over again. It helps me to see better when I paint upside down, so that’s what I was doing in this shot.
I toned down the colors in her face. Although I wasn’t using a photo reference, I had Tori Amos in mind as I was painting, and Tori has fair skin.
I titled this one Deeply Mysterious. To me, she looks like she has a story to tell. I’m not quite sure what she’s trying to tell me, but I’m intrigued. This painting is available to purchase here.

Lots of new items are available in my Etsy shop, and more are being added daily – coffee mugs, postcards, notebooks, iPhone cases, tote bags, throw pillows and blankets.
Although I mostly hang out here on my own website, there are other places to find me online.
