stabilo pencils, soft pastels, water brush pen
on construction paper
These drawings are from another Draw With Me from Danny Gregory’s YT channel. I wasn’t able to attend the livestream, but I got caught up soon after that.
I think Danny set a timer of 5 mins for these, if I remember right. It gave me just enough time to go in quickly with my water brush pen, and smoosh the lines around.
As I’ve said before,
I like these quick drawing exercises
to get my hands and brain fired up.
Sometimes, it’s good to challenge yourself to see how much you can get done in a short amount of time without thinking constantly about the final result.
I honestly don’t like these drawings. Sure, I could spend more time on them, and add details to make them better. I don’t know if I will, tho. Maybe sometime?
The whole point of doing these little weekly drawing challenges for me is doing something outside my comfort zone – such as drawing from reference photos I would never have chosen myself.
It’s also about making art just for the sake of making art – for fun, instead of feeling like creating art is all work, and no play.
I hope you have a lovely creative day. Check out Danny’s livestream every Thursday at 9am Pacific time. I’ll see you there!

See my artwork in a new movie – The Whale starring Brendan Fraser, which was released on December 9th, 2022.
If you haven’t checked out my eBay store in a while, you should. Some artwork I have marked down to only $10 or $15, and auctions starting at only 99 cents. I also sell on Etsy.
As always, if you want to say hello or have any questions you can write me here. I love getting email, and hearing from you.
