Her mood fell on people like summer rain

It’s been raining here all week. Not like a warm summer rain, but a cold wintry one. I had to turn the heat back on, which is weird since it’s the middle of May. But what isn’t weird these days? Not much.

It warmed back up, and got humid yesterday. My stuffy head is telling me that May is back in full swing, and so are my outdoor allergies.
“Now is not the time to stay stuck. Now’s the time to move your feet. Now’s the time to raise your hand up, if you’re a creative, and to paint. Because..painting matters. Your art matters, and there are people out there who need to see your work.”
Mary’s one of my favorite landscape artists, and you should check her work out.
I don’t paint landscapes anymore, but I like her advice of looking for ordinary objects to paint.
Come Inside
Art journal pages
Remember when you could easily invite people inside, and not think about it? The thought of doing that now makes my eyes bug out. I look at everyone as if they’re a big germ waiting to infect me.

How to avoid burnout in the middle of a pandemic – because if you’re like me, you’re experiencing work fatigue like never before. Normally, I have endless energy for painting, but I can’t count the number of times I’ve hit a wall since February. I have custom orders that need my attention, but my brushes and knives are sooo heavy right now. I can’t seem to pick them up off the table. Good thing there’s no rush or deadline. I’d be in trouble.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a super awesome Friday.
