Watercolor portrait in my art journal
i was just thinking about how, back in the day, a lot of artists used to type without any capitalization. i’m sure i looked like a copycat when i started doing it also, but it was for a different reason than trying to fit in with other artists or look cool.
trying hard to fake a smile
my reason was because at the time i was dealing with some painful carpal tunnel and elbow issues, and holding down the shift key on those big clunky keyboards was extremely painful on my pinky fingers. it would shoot pain up my hands into my elbows, so i would only use the shift key if i had to.
now-a-days i have a magic keyboard, and typing is easier. i don’t miss having to press down so hard on the keys. my carpal tunnel issues are for the most part gone. i only have to use my wrist braces once in a blue moon now.
another plus is the magic keyboard makes little to no noise. my husband is a windows guy. he still uses one of those big keyboards, and i can hear and count every keystroke he makes from the other room. haha! not really, he types fast, but i might be able to if i tried.
i’m bringing back a memory from the good ole days today by not using the shift key in this post. funny thing is i’ve had to go back and change some letters because i’m so used to typing properly. lol i might have to do this more often. i like being silly.

Yesterday, I worked on scanning my newest paintings, and after counting them, I discovered I have a stack of 51 new ones that I need to photograph, and list. Oy. I’m running out of storage space, so I’m having a HUGE 30% off original paintings in my eBay store. Don’t miss out!
Artists I’ve been admiring lately:
Edward Hopper Painting in His Studio video
Guy Warren video – 101 year old artist from Australia
Isabella Cotier – I absolutely love her style
Draw Brighton – I found this site this morning thanks to Linda Marcille on Patreon. Draw Brighton also has a Patreon, which I’ll sign up for after I peruse their website for a couple days. They offer several zoom call drawing sessions each week, which sounds so intriguing.
