I made a new FB page this morning for my portrait paintings, and a new Instagram account for my floral paintings. I know I’ve said before that I wanted my two different painting styles to look cohesive when I post them on a page, but it’s becoming increasingly harder for me to make it work. The differences between the genres, such as: the colors, oil paint versus acrylics, my two painting styles – brushes versus knives, and disciplined versus loose are hard to deny. I think each belongs in its own category, apart from one another.

Having two separate FB pages and Instagrams will be easier. This way I can post all portraits in one place, and not have to worry about how a floral or bird painting will look beside it on the page. I can continue being all girly with lots of light pinks, greens and blues in my cottage paintings, which I simply LOVElovelove, and use darker oil colors in my portraits without fearing the two will clash..like they’re doing here on my blog tonight.
I’m still only going to keep one blog (this one, for now anyway..I might change my mind about this) and one Twitter and Youtube channel because there’s only so much social media I can handle. I’ve created playlists on my YT channel for portraits, and one for cottage paintings to make it easier for those only interested in one style or another because it seems to me I have a very different audience for each genre (another reason to separate the two).
So, one more time, in case you’re confused. This is my new FB page for portraits, and my floral & bird FB page. You can find my portraits here on Instagram, and the cottage chic paintings have a new home here. That should do it. See you there!
