Is it Friday already? This week sure went zooming past, huh? Well, it did for me because I try to write all my blog posts for the week on Sunday. I really see the days flash by me when I do that! lol It feels soooo good to be organized, tho. When I don’t take the time to sit down to plan ahead, and write out the week’s blog post, the week is much harder for me. Blogging in the moment is fun, but I don’t want to do it ALL the time. I want to feel like I can escape into my studio, and not be disturbed for a few days, if I need the time. It seems hard to remember to blog when I’m in the studio and paint is flying everywhere.
So, I try to set aside a big chunk of either Saturday or Sunday to write blog posts for the week ahead. When I’m in my studio, I’ve got the camera all charged up, and I’m taking photos for the following week. Sometimes, I’ll edit scheduled posts with new stuff, but for the most part, I like being able to forget about my blog for a few days, and concentrate on painting.
This is pretty crazy, I tore through an entire gallon of gesso in about 6 weeks. It’s the fastest I’ve ever gone through one. A gallon usually lasts me about 3 months, but not at the rate I’ve been painting lately.
The gesso I buy is relatively cheap, Blickrylic gesso. I’d love to buy the Golden brand, but it’s double the price of the Dick Blick brand. !!! Some day, maybe. I don’t know if it really matters all that much, does it? I mean, it’s not like anyone sees it.
