It’s none of my business
It looks like she has three very important things on her mind that she’s pondering right now. Shh!
Sometimes my paintings start blabbing at me while I’m painting them, and they confide in me their story.
Others, like this girl, stay quiet, silent even. It’s none of my business whatever’s on her mind, so I won’t ask. When they don’t wanna talk, my only job is to paint.
Could it be?
She has an itchy nose, but can’t scratch it.
She wants to step out of the frame for a snack.
She wonders how many more years she has to sit here being so still & quiet.
All or none of the above? Idk? You be the judge.

“I use sand and rice, and sometimes metallic pigments. I also use different kinds of linen, a thick weave or a very fine weave. I use acrylic, I use oil. So, all these choices help to bring something different out into the image. And I want the surface of the painting to be the most real encounter, that whatever illusion, whatever I'm painting is interrupted by the surface so that the viewer is constantly moving between the real and the imaginary.”
I wish I could talk about my work as well as she does hers. What an amazing artist! I love her portraits.
Why You Can’t Read Like You Used To? by Randy Ray
Yeah, this is definitely happening to me, also. I’m not on FB, IG, or X, so I don’t have those apps on my phone. However, there are a few youtube channels I’m subscribed to that go live several times a day, and I’m addicted to watching livestreams. I’m constantly checking for notifications, and always have my eye on my phone, even when I’m trying to read. And, if someone goes live, I drop the book instantly. Sorry, but books aren’t packed full of dopamine like livestreams. What can I say?
These aren’t art related livestreams. That ship has kinda sailed for me.
What Scientists Found About Audiobooks - interesting info. I personally have trouble listening to most audiobooks for lots of reasons, which I thought were personally on me, but other people have the same issues.
