Yours Truly No 11
When I was writing my post last week I kept getting a popup warning that my post was getting too long to send via email.
Yours Truly No 12
I’ve seen some lengthy posts here, so I’m not sure if I was writing too much or if it was because I posted 10 photo without using gallery mode. Most likely it was the photos, but whichever was the case, this week I’m keeping it shorter. I need a break after being so long winded anyway.

It’s a dark, gloomy, rainy weekend here. I can hear thunder off in the distance, getting louder now as it moves this way. Perfect day for staying inside, and creating more art..as if I need more paintings, but it’ll be fun, I tell myself. Maybe? I guess? Sure.
The cats are all meowing hysterically. I got up early, and the second I’m awake, they expect to be fed. I’m trying to hold off for another hour or so to keep them on a schedule of sorts. Otherwise they forget they’ve been fed, and beg for another breakfast at their normal time. It’s pouring rain, and they’re upset because they can’t go out into the yard. It’s gonna be a day around here.

The monotony and solitude of a quiet life stimulates the creative mind,
Albert Einstein
I’ve been contemplating this quote, and I’m not sure I fully agree. Monotony can make me feel dull, lethargic, bored, and uninspired. I find myself in that space often lately, and feel rather blah about making art. It’s not easy to create in this kind of mood. Then again, when I create I bring something new into my life, which makes things less monotonous, I suppose. Usually if I can get one painting finished, it often feeds into making more paintings, so yeah, perhaps I agree? Hmm..still thinking about it.

I suppose I should stop writing, and get them something to eat before a fight breaks out. Too late..already happened twice. Oy.
This series is available on Daily Paintworks, and eBay, if you’re interested.
What I’ve been watching:
Primal England - a man and his cute little dog Molly, who are living a slow country life in Lancashire. I’ve been binge watching his videos. He has such a positive attitude on living life, and he considers himself not a hippie, but a hermit. Reading some of his comments, it seems like a lot of people resonate with him. I know I do.
Michelle mitsi Kral Artist - I’ve been watching Mitsi for years. She recently started doing really cool behind the scenes artist vlogs. Love learning more about her life in UK.
This will change how you look at portrait painting forever - Paint Coach
I signed up for his free Paint Week, which starts on June 16. I’ve been thinking about painting in oils again after not touching them for 4 or 5 years due to life changes. Since I moved I don’t have as much drying space as I used to, but I do have room for a few. It will be a good little side project for the summer. After working in gouache for a couple years now, it’s going to be a huge change, going from fast drying to s l o w, and thin to thick paint.
Katie,
I just subscribed to all the YouTubers you mentioned! That way I won’t forget!
Love reading your letters.
