I started a new series last week, and titled it Little Ones. This will be an ongoing series that I’ll be adding more to over time. I’m going to keep the size all the same - 4x6 inches on whatever type of paper I have on hand.
I like working in a series like this because I don’t have to decide on a size or come up with a title for each of these. I only have to number them.
Without art, the crudeness of reality would make the world unbearable.

1.75 coffees down, and still felt fatigued. So tired I couldn’t be bothered to lift the coffee cup to the desktop, evidently. Just plopped it down in my lap. Zzzzzzzzz. Gonna take things slow today, and knock off early to snuggle with these babies…
Sweet Pea was being a snuggly bug & Harold was glaring at me. He’s always accusing me of playing favorites whenever one of the other cats gets to me before he does. Aww..
Starting this week, I’m going to combine my Wednesday art journal posts with my Sunday evening posts OR I’ll post my art journal pages as notes throughout the week instead. I’ve become quite fond of posting notes. It’s quick, easy & doable because I can do it on the fly. Whereas, writing two longer posts a week is starting to feel like a dreaded chore. If I combine the two, you’ll get a meatier post each week, and I’ll have time in between to not only paint, but to hunt & gather interesting links to share at the bottom of each post.

How it started, and how it ended.
The little characters living in my head are quite stoic these days. I’ve noticed they’re not banging on the bars of their cage inside my head to be let out as often. When they do decide to come out on to the paper they have such sad little expressions. I get it, guys. I really do.
Interesting things I ran across this week online:
Quotes from comments under this video titled AI ruined my life:
“Art doesn't have value in our world any longer. Only advertising does”
Another one - “im not entierly sure what you mean. I think ai is an issue, but surely laws will be put in place. I love art, and i want to be a photographer hopefully ai dosent stop me.”
I hate to be the one to break it to this person, but there IS a law in place. It means absolutely nothing since AI came along. Can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube now.
Braxton Haugen - American filmmaker, artist, and writer from Oregon, currently living in London. He gave me a Casey Neistat vibe, and when I read his bio on Youtube, I found out he worked for Casey’s brother, Van. Ahh..makes sense. I don’t watch Van, (yet...I’m going to check out his videos soon) but I used to watch Casey’s daily vlogs. Holy crap..I just realized that was TEN years ago. What??!
Watching:
The Gilded Age on HBO, which is a series set in NYC. I’m 4 or 5 episodes in, and all I want to do is lie in bed & stare at the screen, and dream of wearing those fancy gowns.
I also have Juliet, Naked (looks funny & quirky) and We Were Liars on my watch list. I read We Were Liars years ago, and it was so good, especially the ending. I haven’t read the rest of the series yet, but I need to.
Right now I’m reading: The Anthropologists by Aysegül Savas
I got this book on my library app, and so far I like it. It’s not exactly a fast page turner, but it should be a quick read.
My work is available on Daily Paintworks, and eBay.
You can also find me on pinksky & blsky.
I’ve also been posting notes here on Substack in between these longer posts.
