It’s hard to tell the difference between my work table surface and the painting panel, but I promise you it’s there, and I prepped it with collage paper. I really liked the vehicles near the bottom, and knew I wanted to keep the paper exposed.
Lots of layers went into her face. I let each one dry, and kept adding more. I promise it will make sense later.
Then I kinda went off the rails for a bit. Since I was painting this girl from my imagination, not a reference photo, I was thinking her hair would/should be a wind blown mess since she was doing so much traveling. When I saw how ugly I made her look, I scrapped that idea quickly. Thankfully. :)
I went back to the cute pixie cut, and painted her ear back in.
All the layering I did is starting to make sense here, I think. I covered some of it up, and left some showing through.
The original painting has been sold, but giclee prints are available if you’re interested.
My artwork is available on Daily Paintworks, and eBay.
Please note: since Paypal has become so unreliable, glitchy, and a nightmare to use, I have recently switched to Stripe on DPW. This should make things easier on everyone. You don’t need an account on DPW or Stripe, just a debit or credit card.
You can also find me on pinksky & blsky.
I’ve also been posting notes here on Substack in between these longer posts.
