My old studio/husband’s new office
Taken on Saturday before my husband started staining the floor.
I feel like I dodged a bullet on this one. Greg reminded me the other night that I’ve been the one who stained all the floors, woodwork, and stairs in our house. I had to think about it for a minute, but yeah, he was right. I thought he was hinting that the tradition should continue, and I better get to work. I volunteered, but he insisted on doing it himself. Whew, narrowly escaped that one!
He hasn’t even moved his desk in yet, but he’s already become quite possessive of the room. Last night he called it “MY room”, emphasis on the “my”. haha!
In the meantime, I’m getting super annoyed with the mess in my new studio. It is almost impossible now to work, since we completely emptied out my old studio into my new space. I can barely maneuver around boxes, bookcases, shelving units, tables. I even have a bike shoved into the corner..what a freaking mess.
There’s no way I’m getting to my photography table for a while, so yesterday I made a makeshift area on my painting table. It’s so cramped that my husband couldn’t open the door because my tripod is blocking it. Also, there’s no way two of us can fit in here now. I barely fit in here.
I ended up spilling my paint water all over an oil painting I was suppose to be photographing. Then I spilled about 100 brushes all over the floor..I have yet to clean them up because I can’t bend over without causing more of a mess. It’s likely boxes would come tumbling down. So, now I’m stepping on brushes as I’m talking photos. Lovely. I’ve only been working a few hours a day because it’s simply too frustrating.
Can’t wait until we get this all sorted, and it’s back to business as usual.
