Art journal page – Monday I was sad
Using the zorn palette in my art journal
Day 20 of 30 Day Creative Gathering
I feel bad about ditching the 30 day FB group, but I’ve had custom orders to get done, and a couple of new large projects that need my attention. I’ve been working around the clock, and still don’t have time to get everything done. Oy. I think I painted for 9 hours straight yesterday. I still feel exhausted.

Day 21 of 30 Day Creative Gathering
I got this one varnished this morning, and I’m calling it finished. It’s my favorite painting so far this month. It’s making me want to do more collage work like this in the near future.
It’s originally from a series I did back in 2012 (I think), which I called the Photo Booth series. I used old black and white photos of people in photo booths as my reference, but of course, I put my own spin on things.
I’ve revised this one twice now. I didn’t realize it until I went to look for an old photo of it. This is what the original looked like.
And then I revised it, and for a couple years it’s looked like this..
It was okay,
but after I lived with it for a while,
I wasn’t thrilled with it.
I’m beginning to think I need to wait on listing things for at least a year. That way, I can hang the painting on the wall, take a good long look, and decide if I truly like a painting once the newness wears off.
They always say time changes things,
but you actually have to change them yourself.
Andy Warhol
I’m more than happy with the newest revision. I don’t think I’ll ever change it again, but who knows? Nothing ever stays the same around here for long.
If you’d like to purchase this painting, it’s available here.
I filmed the process, and you can watch it here. Don’t forget to subscribe, so you never miss another video.
