Day 293
I didn’t spend a lot of time on this one. Just went in and fixed her eye slightly because it was a bit wonky. I’m having a big studio sale in my shop..trying to make room for new stuff. She’s on sale now for 20% off, if you’re interested.

Summer has come early around here. The temperature is soaring. We’ve been getting fresh organic spinach, romaine lettuce, and ramps from Greg’s garden for the past few weeks. He’s too greedy to share the ramps with me (haha really, it’s okay..he eats them for sentimental reasons. I prefer onions myself), but I’ve been eating the spinach with asparagus and eggs every day for lunch. And, the lettuce every night for dinner. Such a treat.
We grew romaine lettuce all winter in the house. I’ve always wanted to grow vegetables year round, and we finally tried it. Winter gardening is the best! Look at all that lettuce!! This photo was taken on the back porch on Dec 21, 2018. Pretty amazing.
Can you believe the spinach grew outside in raised beds all winter, also? I can’t. We had a couple -zero days? I think it snowed once about an inch, too, if I remember right. It’s a miracle it made it through the winter.
Greg’s been keeping a close eye on it, and all through January, and February he kept saying, “The spinach and kale are still alive out there.” We also had kale growing, but it didn’t make it. I don’t think I actually believed him about the spinach until I saw it myself, and now I’m tasting it. mmm..
