The ice storm continues..
The clocks were blinking this morning when I woke up, so we lost power during the night. I’m so grateful it’s back on now. We don’t have any backup heat like a wood stove or fireplace..just the furnace and electric space heaters.
We do have a generator, tho, so if things go south, we’ll have to run it..expensive as that will be. Greg planned ahead, and bought some gas, just in case. Luckily, the gas station is just down the street if we need more.
I prefer snow over ice, but I do think it’s beautiful out there. I worry about people getting restless, and going out in this. We don’t have salt trucks salting the roads where I live, so it will be a slow melt, if it melts at all today. The sun will be out Tuesday, and do its job. Just gotta sit it out ’til then.

A modern stoic knows that the surest way to discipline passion is to discipline time: decide what you want or ought to do during the day, then always do it at exactly the same moment every day, and passion will give you no trouble.
—W.H. Auden
Great advice W. H., but I’m posting a bit early today. I woke up feeling sick..migraine headache, blurrier than normal vision, and a stuffy head. I feel hungover, but I haven’t had a drink since July. I suppose that could be it, or my allergies are through the roof. Not sure why. I haven’t eaten anything different, and I haven’t been outside for long periods of time. I want to curl up on the couch, and die, except Greg is going to be pounding on the front porch today as soon as he gets back from Home Depot..so maybe it’s not the best time. I might just hide up here, away from the sunlight. It’s trying to kill me today, I just know it.

What the? There was a mosquito flying around me just a second ago. I’m up here in my office, and had to check the calendar to be sure it’s still November.
The tree out my office window has lost all its leaves, and looks very winter-like. If you glance to the right, the huge cottonwood trees on the lawn across the street are still a summery green. Not sure what’s going on.
I’m attempting another DPW experiment tonight..I’m not sure if I can post two photos in a blog post without confusing Daily Paintworks when it pulls my feed. Will it pull the right image? I’ll soon find out. I’d love to be able to post more than one photo in my post, but we’ll see.
Update: I manually pulled the feed, and it worked fine. This makes me really happy. 🙂

Trying a little experiment..I’m going to try merging my blog with my Daily Paintworks gallery. If it works, it will save me a lot of time. I won’t have to list over there anymore. How it’s suppose to work is DPW will pull my blog feed nightly at midnight, and whatever I’ve posted here will post for sale in my gallery there. It’s not suppose to pull the body of the entry, just the photo, and tags. So, I assume I can still write a blog-like post, and it won’t show up over there. If it works like that, it will be great. I just hope all these words won’t mess up the pull. We’ll see how it goes. Day one..crossing fingers that it works. If it does, I’ll see you here again tomorrow.
Edit: I manually pulled the feed from DPW, and it worked!!
