Oil Abstract Landscape Painting
Landscape No 41, 42, 43, and 44
Painting can be hung either side up.
These are all 4×4 black and white on canvas.
Because these are small, I decided to place them in a grouping, instead of spreading them throughout the month. Day 11 of 30/30
Harold and Sweet Pea
If you’re new to my blog, Sweet Pea is blind because she was born without eyes. We adopted her when she was 3 months old, and she’s soon to be 4 years old in March.
When there are two new kittens in the house, it turns into nothing but kitten talk around here, I swear. I even emailed my husband the other day and said, “Remind me to tell you a funny kitten story when you get home.” Gah. We both have it bad. Real bad. Here I go again, although this one might not be laugh out loud funny, I’ll still like to look back at it later. 🙂
So, two nights ago, instead of putting Maude and Harold to bed upstairs in my office, like I have been doing since they first came to live with us, we decided it was time they learn to sleep with us. They were so teeny tiny when we first got them that they slept in a cardboard box. Within two or three weeks, they had outgrown it, but still weren’t quite big enough to come downstairs. Now, they’ve at least tripled their body weight, and have been going up and down the stairs for weeks now by themselves. I was going to wait until after they have their surgery, sometime this month, but I figured, what the heck..it’s been so stinking cold with the below zero temperatures going on. I didn’t want to lie awake worrying that they’re cold upstairs.
It’s going great so far. Except for some alarming growls from Sweet Pea because Harold was slapping her across the face, it’s gone smoothly. haha Oh, that Harold! I had to put him on the cold floor last night because he wouldn’t stop hitting her. I told you about Harold’s persistent little ways, and he will repeat something ad nauseum, even though it’s not working out well for him. He’s more or less figured out he’s not going to win with electrical cords, but he’s found something else to obsess over, and her name is Sweet Pea. Yeah..that’s what he was up to in the middle of the night.
At one point, Sweet Pea stood up, smacked him good, growling the whole time, and jumped off the bed. Clearly, she had had enough. About an hour later, Harold was at it again because I woke up to the sound of growling, which is when I put Harold on the floor. He immediately jumped right back up on the bed, but I had reset his brain waves, FINALLY. He forgot he had been slapping Sweet Pea, and snuggled up next to Maude, and soon we were all back to sleep. Overall, I’d say it’s been a great success, but we’re still working on Harold’s stubborn streak. I have a feeling it will be awhile. 🙂
