What I’m watching: Bob’s pep talk #8 – Goof Proof Commissions

 

I had to laugh when Bob was talking about original paintings not being dresses. I have thought the same thing sooo many times. I think the number one question I get about my original paintings is “do you have this in another size or color”, too. I don’t think people understand what original means..and why should they when they walk into stores and see a stack of the same exact item to choose? Just one?? What do you mean?? Impossible! Sounds absurd. 

 

I’ve been adding this into my listings for years now.. “It’s an original, one of a kind painting, which means there’s only one. It comes in one size only. If you’d prefer a different size, check out the link below for prints of this painting.“

 

Believe it or not, people will still write to me, and ask anyway because they want to be sure I don’t have another painting in their size or color hiding in my “stockroom out back” or something..as if I’m a big department store like Walmart. Some have suggested I need to go check, just in case. Um…okay, but I’m going to have a hard time finding the stockroom, let alone the painting, so you might want to check on me in an hour or two in case I get lost. lol 🤣 😂
