Day 23 of 30 in 30.
I got thinking about it the other day, and I’ve had Netflix for at least ten years now. I was quick to jump on the bandwagon when it first launched. I was living out in the middle of nowhere in a milo field, and getting DVDs in the mail was so convenient. I didn’t have to drive into the city, and find a Blockbuster. And, then came streaming. Laaaaa!! One of the happiest days of my life. 🙂
Over time, I’ve become one of those people who must always be in the middle of a series. Ever since I abruptly pulled the plug on Californication, and gave it one star (Season 1 was so good. What happened??? Ew!!), I’ve been looking for something to watch, which is not as easy as it sounds. I spent a lot of time just looking. I tried Madmen, but I was soooo bored, I couldn’t even get through the first few episodes. I kept falling asleep. I’m not sure how it got to be such a hit, it moves very s l o w l y.
So, I was in limbo for a few weeks, until I remembered an old favorite, Desperate Housewives. I watch a season or two when it was on tv, but then I moved halfway across the country, and didn’t have cable for a while. Now, I’m about 3/4 the way through season 3 now, and I’m hooked! Completely obsessed!
If you’re wondering where I’m watching it now that Netflix has dropped the show, I have HuluPlus. I tolerate ads for this show, and I HATE ads. It’s worth it, tho.
This is my guilty pleasure confession of the day. What series are you watching?
Turning thoughts into action – Day 15 of 30 in 30

Number 8 is the most powerful one, imo. I know people who think about creating every day, but they don’t turn their the thoughts into action. Something is in the way, blocking them. Perhaps it’s fear. Being afraid that what they will create won’t come out how it looks in their thoughts, maybe? I’m not sure.
I’m quite the opposite. I act long before I’ve had time to think about it. That way, there’s no image in my mind that I have to live up to, and I’m free to do whatever I want in the moment. I honestly have no idea what I’m going to do when I walk into my studio. I guess there are basics, like first I decide whether I want to use oils or acrylics, and pick a color that’s in front of me. I choose a palette knife, but from there, I never know what will happen. It’s a split second decision, and boom..I’m off and running with it. I don’t give myself time to change my mind.
