It’s snowing outside my office window right now! Of course, it won’t stick, but I love surprises like this.

Poor little Sweet Pea kitty got sick yesterday, and I had to call the emergency vet at 6:30 in the morning. She had vomited several times during the night, like 4 or 5 times, and she was having diarrhea. The lady I talked to on the phone suggested I wait until 8am because they charge a $72 fee, if it’s an emergency visit. She said if she was still sick at 8am that I could call back, and schedule a normal visit. She didn’t seem too concerned. Sweet Pea wasn’t lethargic, and was otherwise acting pretty normal, other than being a bit anxious, so we waited it out. The lady told me to hold off feeding her for 12 hours, but by 8am Sweet Pea was begging for breakfast. I figured she knew her body better than I did, so I gave her a small handful of dry food, and waited. Nothing happened. So a couple hours later I gave her another handful. She seemed fine. I stayed downstairs with her all day, and she napped on my lap for 5 or 6 hours. Last night she ate her normal wet food dinner. I’m assuming that she had an upset stomach, and everything is okay now. I sure hope so. I love that little girl so much. I didn’t care about paying the extra fee, if she needed to be seen, but I’m glad now that we waited it out. It would have stressed her out so much, taking her down there. It probably would have made her stomach issues worse. Here’s hoping it wasn’t anything serious, and she’s on the road to recovery.

I’ve started to have computer problems again. Everything froze up, and I had to hard boot it twice before it came out of it. This is the third day in a week that I’ve lost valuable time dealing with computer issues. I was in somewhat of a panic because I had 4 orders to get shipped out, and no way of doing it. Luckily, I got it back up and running, but for how long this time? An hour? A day? I have no idea. I’m scrambling now to get this post written for tomorrow before it decides to die on me again.
I’m going to have to bite the bullet first thing in the morning, and buy a new computer. I’m disappointed to say the least. This hunk of junk is only 2 years old, and I bought it new. You get what you pay for, as they say, so this time I’m buying an iMac. It will take a couple days to ship, but then I’ll be free from all this Windoze misery.

I haven’t painted with oils for a month or so, and now I have a palette to scrape. If you’re wondering what kind of palette I’m using, it’s a piece of thin glass, which breaks easily. I know because I’ve broken them before. I continue to use glass for oils because it seems to be the easiest to clean. I keep the glass inside this large Premier Palette container I bought at Blicks. It has a cover, which to be honest, doesn’t work the best at all. Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t seem to snap it into place, but I do lay it over the top of my palette. It keeps the odor of oils down, and the paint does stay fresher. I’m glad I bought it because I’ve been storing my palette in it ever since. That said, I would trade it instantly for something that has a better fitting cover. If you need a place to store your palette, and you don’t care about the cover, buy it. If you care about the cover, like me..it was the reason I bought the thing, after all, then I’d look for something else.
I’m not sure why this turned into a review of the product, but it’s an honest one, and I’m just going to leave it. I’m off to the studio to paint with Sweet Pea cat today. The twins are downstairs, giving us a much needed break. It’s hard to concentrate when they’re running around.
