I’m sitting here drinking hot chamomile tea and it’s 97F outside. Even though my little studio is quite stuffy, and I must slide backwards and crank the fan up another notch, I can’t get into drinking ice tea or sweet tea, as they call it here. I think I like to pretend it’s cold outside or something. Well, the ice cubes would certainly melt fast up here, so it’s probably a good thing. I’ve read that drinking hot liquids on hot days actually makes you cooler because it heats up your body temperature or something? That would make one hotter, I would think, but that’s what the experts claim. Google it, and see.

Acrylic portrait painting
girl wearing a masquerade mask
I’m dreaming of fall weather, and falling leaves crunching below my feet. Swish swish. It’s going to rain tomorrow, which is actually today because I’m writing this post yesterday, and scheduling it ahead of time. I hope it has washed the heat away by now.
Whut? I think the heat has got to me.

About: This painting has a feeling of isolation. Being alone with a bird with nothing but gray skies, and land. The colors are muted in this one. I wanted it to feel cold, like winter; yet, warm to the heart because of the close relationship you see between the girl and bird.
I finally edited the video so you can see me paint her. This is one of those paintings that took a few months to finish. I wasn’t working on it every day, but I kept getting stuck, and didn’t know how to proceed. That usually doesn’t happen to me because I like to paint a painting in one sitting, but for some reason I didn’t know what to do with this one.
