Someone is having a birdday on Monday. 🙂 Can you guess who it is? Why it’s my precious little girl, Sweet Pea, that’s who!!
For those who are new to my blog, and don’t know Sweet Pea’s story, I’ll get you up to speed. Sweet Pea was born without eyes, so she is completely blind. We had the privilege of adopting her in 2011, when she was 4 months old. She instantly stole our hearts and soul..what a character she is. From the moment I saw her, I knew this was going to be BIG love, and like no other. I was right.
These 4 photos are what her previous owner emailed me before we met. I remember jumping up and down, and screaming, “I WANT HER!! I WANT HER!!” to my husband. There was absolutely no doubt in my mind. Who could resist that cute little face? Aww..
The first day we spent together was full of cuddles. It was too late for my heart at this point. I was already so in love with her.
Turns out I wasn’t the only one smitten with this baby kitten. Papa couldn’t wait to get home from work to hold his wittle girl.
It took her all of 2 days, and she had every room in the house memorized, top and bottom floors. She knew exactly where all the furniture was placed, and was soon racing and running through the house. I showed her where the litter box was one time, and a couple hours later she had made her way to it all by herself. At the time, I was completely blown away. These days, I forget she’s blind, and have to remind myself sometimes because nothing holds this girl back from living life. NOTHING!!
My table top easel turned into a gymnasium.
I quickly learned that this girl was a force to be reckoned with. Her motto, why stay on the floor where it’s boring when you can climb to the top of Mom’s easel instead. lol She hasn’t climbed my easel in a while, but she likes to walk across the back of our dining room chairs, tightrope style. She gives me such great anxiety when she does that because the back of the chair is only about 1/2 inch wide. I’m always so afraid she’ll fall, but she assures me she knows what she’s doing. In other words, if I go near her to help, she scratches, growls and claws at me. haha!! Such an independent little thing. 😀

My husband surprised me for my birthday one year, and painted this photo of Sweet Pea and me. It’s the BEST gift I’ve ever received in my life. Up until this time, I didn’t understand people crying over a gift, but I bawled my eyes out when I saw this painting.
Aww..
putting their best paw forward
This one cracks me up. She’s such a little diva.
the pet couch..
aw..I miss this old thing in my office,
but it’s been replaced with a twin size bed,
which the kitties tell me is even better for napping.
Unfortunately, Big Red Fred is too old to make it up the stairs now,
so this is a photo I treasure.
I miss when we all hung out together all day.
Greg gave me flowers, and Sweet Pea ate them.
what dinner looks like in our house
nom nom
As you can tell, there is a shortage of Sweet Pea photos, unfortunately. There’s probably only 1 or 2 million for me to choose from. haha!! I could go on and on all day about my girl, but this post is getting too long as it is.
I’m going to leave you with a video of Sweet Pea doing what she loves most, eating her kitty treats. You can subscribe to her Youtube channel here.
Happy 6th birthday, sweet girl. Mommy loves you sooooo much.
