Three days. That’s how long it took me to paint 10 5x7s, plus 4 6x6s. Not that I’m keeping track of my time because I never do. My nose is always to the grindstone, so I don’t know if I make good time or not. All I know is that I spend far more time on the computer editing photos, and writing out descriptive listings than I do painting. Which is a shame, isn’t it? I need a studio assistant who does the office work for me, so I can take naps every day paint more. What a great life that would be, eh? 🙂

Day 3 of 30 in 30
The word I picked for 2015 is share. I chose it as a reminder to myself to get my artwork out there each day, and share what I’m doing on social media. Like a lot of artists, I have a tendency to be a hermit in my studio. I get all into my own head, and the painting I’m working on. I forget the rest of the world exists. When I look outside my window, I often think my life is sooooo boring, all I do is paint all day. What do I have to share, and does anyone care about this silly half finished painting I’m working on? Truth is..I will never know who might be interested in the daily life of an artist like me, if I don’t put myself out there, right? So, I’m opening myself up to making new friends. No more negative self-talk!
That said, I made a new FB page a couple weeks ago, and reactivated my Twitter account. I’m also on Instagram and Pinterest. So let’s see if I can get back into the swing of this thing called social media. If you like my work, and use any of these sites, please follow or like or whatever it takes to keep in touch. It will encourage me to keep posting, and stick to my word of the year. 🙂
Did you pick a word for 2015 or make any resolutions? I’d love to read about it in the comments.
