9×12 acrylic portrait painting on flat panel
using the Zorn palette
Day 1 of 30 Day Creative Gathering has begun. I’ve been working on this one for a week, maybe more. I glazed it this morning to make the vermilion red pop. I think she’s finished. We’ll see how I feel when I look at it again in a few hours. Acrylic portrait painting on flat panel. Loose brushstrokes – might be my theme for the month.
Butterfly and dragonfly swarms are here,
and it’s a beautiful sight.
Hundreds of dragonflies
circling overhead at twilight
each night.
This is a Viceroy Butterfly
on its butterfly landing pad.
I was so jealous the moment I took this photo,
but it did open its wings up
and allowed me full view of its beauty.
Aww..it felt pretty special to be given
such a gift.
Also, one landed on my leg
the day before,
so I guess I can’t be upset.

9×12 Asian girl
acrylic portrait painting
WIP
Day 2 of 30 Day Creative Gathering, and so far, so good. 🙂 I’ve painted this girl a couple times, and it sold out pretty fast. People seem to like her, so I’m painting her again for the 3rd time.
Every time Frog hopped,
so did Chewy.

New fall blog schedule!
I know it’s not quite autumn yet, but my blog schedule is changing this week. Look for new blog posts 2 or 3 times a week, instead of 5 to 7x. I have a couple projects I’m working on for big companies, and I need to adjust my focus.
Time management is all about distinguishing between what is important for you and what simply lures you into useless activities.
Don’t worry. I don’t think taking photos of clouds is a useless activity. I’ll be keeping the clouds coming, as long as the sky keeps making ’em. 😀
I need to be reassured constantly that there are good people in the world, and today I’m convinced. This made me cry wet, sloppy happy tears.
Listened to Alan Watts this morning because my son texted me 4 youtube videos that he wanted me to watch. I’ve already listened to some of Alan Watts’s work (I have a love/hate relationship with the beats), but I’m always down for more. Thanks, Ryno! xo
Also listening to this podcast. Not sure if I like it enough to keep listening. I prefer Rafi and Klee’s podcast, tbh.
One last thing, if you’re interested in a custom portrait painting, now is the time to order one for Christmas. There are only so many I can paint in one season, so order early.
