These paintings are all titled with lyrics from a song by The Cranberries, Linger, which I’ve had on repeat inside my head since I heard the news two weeks ago. RIP Dolores O’Riordan.

Day 110
I’ve started another painting project, and that’s in my kitchen. Wooboy. We have family flying and driving in for Thanksgiving this year, so we’ve been sprucing things up around here. My kitchen has dark cabinets, which originally were bare wood. I stained them mahogany a few years back to match the woodwork and floors in the rest of the house. I’ve regretted it pretty much ever since.
The house is already dark, and I made it darker. The stain has to go, and white cabinets will soon be in place. I make it sound so simple. Just going to waaaave my maggggic waaand. Poof! I wish it was that easy. ha! I have a pretty big kitchen, and it looks like it’s going to take 3 coats of white paint, so I’m going to have a busy week.
I’m going to try hard, but if I don’t have a blog post for Wednesday, this is the reason why. HAVE to get this, and a couple other house projects done..all involve painting. Since I’m going to be busy elsewhere, I might have to suspend the daily painting project until after the holiday is over. Not sure if I’ll want to paint after painting all day. ha! We’ll see how it goes. Hopefully, I can wrap it up pretty quickly in a day or two.

I think my blogging schedule is going to be Wednesdays and Saturdays. I had this one last abstract to post though, so I decided to wait an extra day this week. This concludes the palette knife paintings for October. I have yet to announce my theme for November because..well, I couldn’t make up my mind, so the theme kept changing.
Daily painting for October 2017
Around the middle of October, I picked mail art as my theme for November, and even have several postcard pieces painted for it. However, when November 1st rolled around, I wasn’t feeling it anymore. I think another month of abstract painting would have driven me batty, so I’m back to painting portraits once again.
Daily painting for October 2017
Don’t get me wrong, I love abstracts, but after painting a 16×20, 27 – 6×6 abstract paintings, 20+ postcards, and making 3 little handmade books full of abstracts last month, it’s time for a change. Don’t worry, tho, when I tire of portraits, I always go racing back to abstracts, so there will be more in the future.

Light and Art – Peter Fiore podcast
What Really Happened podcast by Andrew Jenks..I’ve been following Andrew’s work for many years now. I’ve come to the conclusion, if it has Andrew’s name on it, I’ll watch it, whether I’m interested in the subject matter or not. I like him that much. LOVED his MTV show and other documentaries (Room 335 was especially good), so I figured I’d like his podcast. I was right. I don’t always agree with him 100% of the time, but he’s the real deal. He makes well thought out decisions, and speaks from his heart.

I have resisted for the longest time, but I’m now posting daily on Instagram, and FB, instead of my blog. What can I say? Social media is faster and easier than writing a blog post each day. You will find me on IG here and here. You can friend me on FB here. Like my FB pages are here and here. Hope to see you there! If you don’t want to keep checking back to see when I post here, I’ll leave a signup below. You can get my posts sent directly to your email inbox.

Day 69
I saw these questions posted on FB, so thought I’d write out my answers here..cos y’know, I’m running out of things to say after 69 days of blogging. Please bear with me. I’m desperate. I apologize in advance. Here goes..
1. What bill do you hate paying the most? My web hosting bill, which always comes as a surprise in September.
2. When was the last time you had a romantic dinner? Last night. Greg and I made pizza, and watched 2 episodes of Ozark. Hey, it’s all in how you define “romantic”, ladies. 😉 Believe me, being in the same room as my husband, and Jason Bateman was all the romance I could take for one evening. I mean, really. Daaang! haha!!
3. What do you really want to be doing right now? Sipping hot peppermint tea, and watching something on Netflix. I’m going to do both as soon as I finish this blog post.
4. How many colleges did you attend? graduated from one, but I’ve taken several courses from different colleges online and off since then. I’m taking one right now from Penn State.
5. Why did you choose the shirt you have on? Because it has aliens on it, and they glow in the dark.
6. Thoughts on gas prices right now? It is what it is. My thinking about it won’t change it.
7. First thought when the alarm goes off in the morning? I never use an alarm. I’m always up early no matter what time I go to bed. My first thought is usually one of these three..how light is it outside? What time is it? Can I get up now? I’m always eager to get the day started.
8. Last thought you have before you go to bed. I hope the cats don’t keep us up all night.
9. Do you miss being a child? No. I miss my Mom, and family/friends who have passed on, tho.
10. What errand/chore do you despise the most? Grocery shopping..or shopping of any kind. I haven’t been in a mall in 20 years, and I’d like to keep it that way.

Day 67
I don’t think I’ve mentioned my office/studio situation lately. In case you’re wondering, it’s still a mess. Combining two rooms into one is challenging. I’ve yet to find a place for everything, but it’s getting there. My husband’s office is all set up across the hall, and looks fantastic! I’m actually a bit jealous of how neat and tidy it is, compared to my space. He keeps lugging more stuff upstairs, tho, so I’ll give it another week or two, and see what happens. 😉
Stay tuned. Lots more abstract paintings to come.
