Kinda funny story..that post I made a couple days ago about challenging myself to blog every day for year? Well, I wrote it just before going to bed one night.. like at 3am. I could barely keep my eyes open at the time, and I didn’t put much thought into the commitment it takes to be a daily blogger.  

Now for a little back story, I usually set up my posts up a few days in advance, especially when I’m doing the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge. I like to be ready, and prepared. It saves me from going into panic mode if I’m feeling pressed for time. It also gives me a chance to go back in, and edit posts if I change my mind. It usually works out great for me, except when it doesn’t. Oy. 

So, I wrote the post, and the next day, reality hit. All I could think about was what am I getting myself into? Blogging every day?? Am I out of my mind??!! I decided I didn’t want to do it. No way. No how. So, I went back in to delete what I wrote, and to write something new. Only thing is, I got distracted, as I often do. I forgot to save the post, and it was scheduled to post at midnight. Imagine my surprise when I saw “I’m going to challenge myself to blog every day for a year” appear on my blog.. in public. Oops. Arrrrrrrgh!!

BOINK! What was I thinking??? There’s no way I can commit to blogging every single day. My plate is heaped high as it is. I have a lot of behind the scene stuff going on that I can’t blog about. I have deals and offers coming at me at a pretty rapid rate. I have to turn down work all the time because there isn’t enough time in the day. I have deadlines to meet, and a life outside of my studio to live. There’s no way I can add the pressure of blogging every day on top of it. 

So, I’m going to take it for what it was..a mistake that I tried to correct, but ended up messing up even more. After the 30/30 challenge is over, I’m going to back to my normal blogging schedule, which will be 2 to 5 days a week. I already feel the tension in my shoulders decreasing. Whew.
