 New! Just painted last week! 

My sister-in-law gave me (thank you, Donna!!) a huge stack of Arches 90lb watercolor paper a couple weeks ago, so I put some of it to good use. 

My camera didn’t pick up the amount of paint on these, but I painted impasto style with palette knives. The paint is pretty thick, in places. 

There will be more coming. I’m back to painting florals after taking a little break. I painted so many (179) in a short period of time that I got a little burnt out, but my energy is back. Don’t you love how that happens? I don’t know if it’s possible to get truly sick of painting a subject, and leave it forever. There’s always this little nudge, and then a  tug to continue where I left off.

Spring has sprung in the midwest. We went from cold, and snow to 75F overnight, it seems. It always amazes me how that happens. Sweet Pea has been enjoying time on the back porch. We haven’t introduced the kittens to the porch yet, and we’re thinking we probably won’t. It’s one thing that Sweet Pea has all to herself to enjoy without interruption. She puts up with so much from them as it is. They are quite pesky, and get on her nerves, since she’s a big cat and all.

These little 4×4 mini paintings look so great blooming in my studio, I hate to part with them. I don’t know why, but when I look at them it reminds me of strawberry shortcake.
