I know I said back in August that I was going to paint over these golf paintings, but I decided there are a few that I’d rather offer for sale instead. These are all available on ebay. If you are a golfer or have a loved one who golfs, these would make fabulous birthday or holiday gifts.

These original paintings of a golfers are from a golf series I created to be featured in a book titled Golf Sayings by Bradford Gordon Wheler back in 2013. I’ve revised some of them since then.

These were painted impasto with palette knives on chipboard. The paint is thick, and the knife marks can be seen throughout the painting. They’ve all been varnished to protect from fingerprints and dust.

Bid early! As with most of my eBay auctions, I start the bidding at 50 to 75% off of what I normally charge. However, if I don’t get bids, I increase the prices as the listings near the ending date to discourage last second snipers. 

Painting a Golf Series

I was asked a few weeks ago if I would submit work
to be considered for a book about golf.
The painting above was a test run I painted in my art journal.
The rest of the series is on chipboard, and
will be available in the near future in my Etsy shop.
The book will come out later this spring, early summer.

I don’t know much about golf, although I do watch it
on weekends.
One little known fact about me is..
I’m a sports fanatic.
I don’t have any particular teams that I follow,
I just watch whatever’s on.

A couple nights ago I sat up until 2 am
watching ski racing I had on the DVR.
 This is something I do alone.
Greg isn’t what I would call a sports fan.
He’ll watch a football game with me,
but most of last season,
I watched the games by myself.

My great grandmother, Sadie,
loved baseball,
and so did my mother.
I guess I get it from them,
except..
I don’t like baseball.
lol
It’s about the only sport on tv
that I don’t watch.
