Painting a nude woman in my art journal

I painted this using a reference photo from Quick Poses or another timed sketching site I use. Instead of sketching, I decided to paint on a blank page. I used a combination of gouache, chalk paint, and watercolors. I chose a rather large brush to paint with very quickly. 

I highly recommend trying timed pages, especially if you’re feeling critical of your work. It has helped me loosen up, and I enjoy working fast without having time to think too much about my decision making. Instead of scrutinizing every brushstroke or line drawn, my brain focuses more on the ticking clock. Beep beep = DONE! Okay, next!!
