black and white
oil portrait painting
work in progress
I’ve been in an experimenting mood with oil paints lately.
I have a HUGE stack of portraits from years ago that I’m revising,
so might as well try new things, right?
First step is to change from acrylics to oils.
Second step is to make each one better than it was before.
I am quite happy with the results.
Have to keep practicing, tho.
Painting daily is so important to growth.
Revising Halloween mask paintings continues at what seems like a snail’s pace. I started revising these back in August, and I remember questioning my sanity at the time. Halloween in August?? Why am I starting this so early? Of course, it appeared I had plenty of time back then. And, now here I am racing to get them photographed, and listed. I doubt I’ll have it all done in time for Halloween.
Note to self: um..hello? I have to get better about estimating the time involved with these “little” projects of mine. What appears like a couple afternoons of work can quickly turn into months of time I hadn’t planned to spend.
Chew Chew Magoo had a much needed bath yesterday,
and got his nails clipped at the groomers.
Virginia Woolf Wears Polka Dots
is off to her new home in Chicago.
Small to large prints are still available here
Goodbye, Virginia.
Homemade gf low carb
fathead dough pizza with
black olives, onions, peppers,
tomatoes and feta.
I hadn’t planned this, but I think Wednesday and Fridays are becoming my blogging days. It’s completely doable, and feels organic/authentic without causing me too much stress. Hey, if it works, keep on doing it, yeah?
“Are you listening to me, Mom?
Sweet Pea NOT coming outta here until you feed me.
…Hark! Is that the sound of a can opening?
Yummmmie!! Here come Sweet Pea!”
😂🙈🙉🐱
Hope you’re having a fantastic week.
What I’m reading this week: The Little French Bristo – starts out a little depressing, but takes a turn. Kinda predictable, but I needed something light, so I didn’t care. It’s hilarious at times, so yeah. Pretty good so far.
Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman – been waiting to read this one for a while. So far, I like it. 🙂 I need to set aside some time to really sink my teeth into it, and that’s what I’m planning on doing this weekend. Looking forward to it.
Have you taken the color test yet? I got a zero, which is a perfect score. Woohoo!! I feel like I cheated a little bit because I have their game app on my phone, so I’ve had plenty practice. 🙂 That plus, last I looked it says “artist” on my name tag. 😀
