Number 8 is the most powerful one, imo. I know people who think about creating every day, but they don’t turn their the thoughts into action. Something is in the way, blocking them. Perhaps it’s fear. Being afraid that what they will create won’t come out how it looks in their thoughts, maybe? I’m not sure.
I’m quite the opposite. I act long before I’ve had time to think about it. That way, there’s no image in my mind that I have to live up to, and I’m free to do whatever I want in the moment. I honestly have no idea what I’m going to do when I walk into my studio. I guess there are basics, like first I decide whether I want to use oils or acrylics, and pick a color that’s in front of me. I choose a palette knife, but from there, I never know what will happen. It’s a split second decision, and boom..I’m off and running with it. I don’t give myself time to change my mind.

I’ve been feeling under the weather for a couple weeks now, pretty much since the challenge started. I don’t have a cold or the flu, exactly, although at times I think I’m coming down with something. It’s more like I’m tired, run down, and feeling blah. So, I’ve been struggling to find something to add here below the painting, but I keep coming up short. Sometimes, it’s better not to force things. Tomorrow will be another day.

When I first started using a lot of pink in my paintings, I wasn’t sure I liked the color. Pink used to be my favorite color as a kid, but I thought I had outgrown it. Thing is it grew on me, and now, all the pink ones are my favorites. Funny how that goes, eh?
I’ve noticed that colors I used to use a lot when painting portraits, I no longer use..like burnt umber, burnt sienna. I suppose I could, but I want my floral paintings to be light and bright, cottage chic style. One of these days real soon I’m going to do a black and white monochrome floral though. I have the canvas prepped for it and everything. Just have to get in there and do it. Roar!! I have no idea what the roar is about, but that’s what my fingers typed, and it’s staying.
