What I’m watching: It took a couple tries to finally settle in and watch something all the way through last night.
The Florida Project – I couldn’t get into this one at all, and shut it off after about an hour. The kids were so troubled, loud and bratty..which I guess was the point of the movie, but it wasn’t for me.
The Pianist – This one is 2.5 hours, and that’s at least an hour too long for my short attention span, which I knew going in. I figured I could watch it in two parts, if I liked it. However, it’s a difficult movie to sit through because of the subject matter. All the beatings, explosions, and gunfire got to me, and I couldn’t watch more than an hour of it. Because of the title, I was thinking it was more about his piano playing than a lesson in history. Maybe it finally gets there, but I couldn’t wait any longer. I don’t generally watch violence, war, or horror movies, so this one was not for me.
Whisky – I’m thinking I should stick with quirky International films with subtitles for the rest of the month because they resonate the most with me. I rarely watch one I don’t like. I give this one 5 stars. It was moody, but still made me laugh several times..especially when I found out why it’s titled “Whisky”. LOL Soooo funny!! Loved how raw, real, and convincing the characters were. More like this please, Netflix!!
Hope you had a great weekend. xo
