New abstract painting in progress

I have a bunch of old figure paintings that have been sitting in my ever growing “Paint Over” pile now for a couple years, so I’m turning them into abstracts. Back in 2012 or so, I was contacted by an author writing a book about golf, so I created a series of 10 or 12 silly golfing characters. It was challenging because I knew nothing about professional golf at the time. 

I started researching the game, and looked at hundreds of photos of people golfing. It led to watching golf obsessively for a few years. It was fun, but I no longer tune in..not into sports like I used to be. 

This is what the painting looked like before I made it into the abstract above. There will be several more of this size coming up in the next few weeks.
