When I wrote the blog post about liking my work now more than I ever have, this is one of the paintings (of many paintings) that I wrote about. I don’t want to sell it, and here’s why..
When a painting is an original, I write in the Etsy listing “Original means there’s only one, and there won’t ever be another one like it.” It’s especially true with these new flower paintings, and it just may be the reason I hold them all closer to my heart. I can re-create an original portrait, and have it come out very similar. Most of the time, I can do this pretty easily, but an abstract flower painting? There’s NO way I can re-paint these, and have them come out looking like the original. There will only ever be one.
I have this one in my Etsy shop, despite not wanting it to sell. I will enjoy it while it’s with me, and then buy a giclee print after it sells.
