Postcard mail art
daily painting: 365 day art project
Day 196
I started this new little project back in November, but I quickly got too overwhelmed with everything I had going on at the time to continue. Things are a bit quieter in my studio, and in my personal life at the moment, so I decided to try again with this postcard mail art series.
I have a huge stack of these cards, so this will be a long ongoing process, which will last probably a year or two.

Day 197
Does anyone see the red puckered lips in this one? haha..I’m always seeing the weirdest stuff in abstract paintings, and once I see it, I can’t unsee it.

Day 198
Kinda funny story about these postcards..
A few years ago, when I was purging out my studio I gave all my old postcards away to my husband. I had no use for them at the time. Fast forward to a couple months ago when he was sorting through stuff, and moving his office upstairs, he came across a bunch of stuff he didn’t want. He told me to take anything I wanted.
I greedily grabbed a stack of postcards out of his hands, and yelled, “YES!! I WANT THESE.” When I later inspected the stack in my office I found an old photo stuck between the cards that dated back to when I was in high school. Huh? It was then I realized these were the postcards I had given him years before. haha Still not sure how or why the photo was in there, but it made me chuckle.
“Y’know you gave me back my own cards, right?”
Him: Noooo. Really?
Me: Thanks for holding on to them so long for me. 😀
We both had a good laugh over it.
What’s that old saying about setting something free, and it coming back to you? Or maybe another man’s trash..
I’m listing these at extremely affordable prices in my Etsy shop. I’ve also been listing a slew of other new paintings. If you haven’t stopped by in a while, you might want to take a look here and here.
