We have a long string of dog days of summer to look forward to where it will be hovering around 100 or 100+. I usually put my nose to the grindstone during extreme heatwaves, and focus on painting. There isn’t much else to do.
multi-layered art journal page
I’m still painting abstracts daily,
and making some breakthroughs.
Me, too! I’ve been spending more time each day looking at art..trying to fill that void of what’s missing in so many areas of life. I didn’t realize what I was doing or why until I read this quote..then I was like..ah, yes..human spirit is what I’m looking for, of course!
Some artists who I’ve recently been admiring on Daily Paintworks are Caasim M, Anna Zhuleva, Pamela Kish, and Janet Reid Wilson.
Caught Harold Zip,
(who happens to be
a brilliant master artist, btw)
studying my husband’s painting.
He gave it two paws up,
in case you’re wondering.
lol
My son & family sent me the most beautiful bouquet of flowers for my birthday over the weekend. Aww!! Soooo sweet it made me cry!! Harold and Sweet Pea love flowers almost as much as I do. My husband gifted me a beautiful pink orchid, which I need to take a photo of soon..or maybe I should paint it instead? My family knows me so well. I adore orchids and how persnickety they are about their environment. I have a lot in common with them. lol
I’m off to the studio for the afternoon. Have a lovely Monday! xo
Reading: Mad at the World: A Life of John Steinbeck – I hesitated before getting this book because of the title. Steinbeck’s one of my favorite authors, and I don’t want to read negative things about him. Plus, he’s not here to defend himself, which seems unfair. So far, that hasn’t been the vibe of the book, but I’ve only just begun to read it. We’ll see.
