So this is what it feels like to actually have two days off in a row? Wow!! I feel like a new woman. What a great weekend. It was my birthday, so we had a family celebration. I spent lots of time lounging around, and today I feel so rested, and relaxed. I haven’t taken two days off in a row since last October. I’m lucky if I take a few hours off a week.
Greg bought me a year subscription to Amazon Kindle Unlimited a couple weeks ago as my birthday gift. I asked him for it, and I can’t tell you how much I LOVE it. I have been reading books like mad.
There are a couple things I don’t like about it, which I’ll tell you about..things they don’t tell you when you sign up. You have to scrounge around to find a book title that’s free, most aren’t, although I have found some surprises in new releases being free. Also, the “Unlimited” part in the title is a bit deceiving..it’s not really unlimited, which I quickly found out. You can read as many books as you want, true, but you are only allowed 10 books out at a time, and then you have to “return” them. So far, the only way I’ve found to do that is on my desktop computer. It’s not enough to simply delete the book from my iPad. So, if your queue is full, and you see a book you want to read, you can’t get it. I don’t get the whole “returning” process either. I mean, it’s a digital file, why “return” it? So, that part is a bit weird, but all in all, I do like the service. I am a little worried that as time goes on I’ll get bored with the very limited selection, but we’ll see. Hopefully, they’ll keep adding new books.
Anyway, I’m currently reading The Girl on the Train, which isn’t on Kindle Unlimited, but I got the hardcover in the mail on Saturday from my book club. I read about 3/4 of it yesterday, just couldn’t put it down. I’ll finish it up today.
On the Kindle, I started and finished reading Maude on Saturday. At 496 pages, I thought it went a bit long, but it was a good read. I kept flipping the pages.
Now it’s back to reality. I was actually groaning about going back to work last night to my husband. I’d love to take another few days off right now, but work is piled up. Last week I uploaded 822 photos that need to be edited for Etsy. I swear, I spend all day, every day in Photoshop. sigh. I need to raise my prices, but I’ll save that for another day.
