Also going on today..I’ve added new iPhone cases to my Etsy shop. If you’re looking for a new case to protect your phone, I hope you’ll check out my newest designs. All iPhone models are listed in the dropdown menu, so you can select whichever one you need. Click any of the images, and it will take you directly to the listing in my shop. I have several more I’ll be adding over the next few days.
Speaking of phones, here’s something you don’t want to see in your notifications..
I didn’t take the weather reports seriously yesterday. My weather app said it was suppose to storm all day, but the sun was shining, and they kept changing the time it was suppose to start..pushing back later, and later. After a while, I stopped looking, which was a huge mistake that left me unprepared.
Usually there is plenty of warning ahead of time. Severe thunderstorm warning turns into a tornado watch, and then a tornado warning. Last night it went straight to a tornado warning. Around 8pm, several tornadoes were breaking out about 14 miles to the northwest. Then it was 7 miles away, and then only 5. The tornado sirens were blaring – when that happens you know it’s close.
It was downright scary, and I was glued to the tv for about 4 hours. The meteorologists kept circling our area on the map, saying it was most likely to get hit the worst. I kept switching channels to try to get a more positive report, but 4 local city channels were all saying the same thing, we were in the bullseye. :/
Hail and rain pounded down so hard, and loud that my husband and I had to yell at each other to be heard. It was mostly nickel in size with a couple golfball size thrown into the mix. Tennis ball size was being reported, but I didn’t see any, thankfully. The ground was covered in what looked like a blanket of snow. Sweet Pea hid behind the toilet in the bathroom. Chewy was scared, and peed all over the floor. It was quite the night.
It went on for what seemed like an eternity. I tried to remain calm and breathe deeply, but I admit, I was shaking. Every time I tried to speak, my voice cracked. I’ve seen a slew of these type of storms, and tornadoes, but it never seems to get any easier. Felt like we were sitting ducks, just waiting to be swept away. Frightening, to say the least. Luckily there were no injuries or fatalities, as far as I know.
Stormy weather continues thru Wednesday, and it looks like tonight might be a repeat of last night. Since we don’t have a basement, I need to find out where the closest underground tornado shelter is here, and get a solid plan in place. If I can’t find one close enough that accepts pets, I’ll have to look into the cost of buying one, and having it installed.
If you’re in the path of these nasty Spring storms, please stay safe out there. Make sure you know where a tornado shelter is ahead of time, preferably an underground one. Anything larger than an F3 can demolish brick and block. Take weather reports seriously, even if it keeps changing. Being prepared can safe your life.
