At The Dog Park
Affordable cardboard art
Available here
This original abstract painting created with black, white, and gray paint is from a series I’m creating on corrugated cardboard. When I stood back and looked at this painting, I saw numerous abstract dogs, hence the title “At The Dog Park”. Having used my imagination to see the “dogs” is my favorite part of this painting. Made me think and see like a child, which always makes me happy.
If you purchase this painting, I hope you’ll use your childlike imagination whenever you look at it, also. I wonder what you will see if you look closely enough? 🙂 Maybe there are lots of other animals hiding within? Actually, I see an elephant, and a rhino. Do you?
Because I used recycled corrugated cardboard, along with the hand cutting process it gives this painting a raw, rustic, primitive vibe. I like to call these pieces imperfectly perfect for this reason. I used palette knives, and artist quality acrylic paint.
It was created by me in my art studio, and is 100% hand painted. I’ve been painting on corrugated up-cycled cardboard for 20+ years. I like to think I’m helping the planet by making art from what would otherwise be thrown in the trash bin. This painting might have corrugation lines, creases, and/or advertising showing.
There are more abstract painting on cardboard available in my Etsy shop.

Also, I spent some time this week updating my custom painting order page. I took the page down a couple months ago because I was getting overwhelmed with all the orders I had received. I’m caught up now, and can start taking orders again.
Please note, any order placed now will NOT be shipped by Christmas unless a rush fee is applied to your order. The painting must be ordered within the next couple days, and you’ll have to pick a size canvas board I have in stock. There isn’t time to order materials from Dick Blick, and wait for them to be delivered.
It will take me several days to complete your painting. Once it’s finished, you’ll more than likely have to pay for overnight shipping to guarantee it will reach you in time for the holidays, which will be another additional charge.
Any custom painting orders that come in after this weekend won’t be shipping out until next year at the earliest. Thanks for understanding, and happy holidays to you and yours. xo Katie
