Watercolor portrait in my art journal
I’ve become overly obsessed with watercolors lately. I’ve filled so many art journal pages that I hit pan on several of my favorite colors. I especially miss that light creamy, yellowish white color, which I used on this guy’s face. Painting portraits just isn’t the same without it.
I went rummaging through my studio, and found this old tin of watercolor paint, which most likely belongs to my husband. He probably used it back in his college days. I stole it, after getting his permission, of course, and can’t wait to try these out in my art journal.
I ordered some tubes of white watercolor paint from a seller on Amazon, which is taking forever to ship. They must be swamped with orders. I’m anxiously waiting for it, so I can mix that yellow cream color myself. In the meantime, I’m using a little acrylic white with yellow watercolor paint, which is okay. It just takes longer to dry.
I also found my Sennelier watercolors hiding in a drawer, which I almost forgot I had. I excitedly popped the cover open, and of course, there wasn’t any white. haha Oh, well. I’ll just have to be patient, and wait for the new paint to arrive.
I hope you have a lovely creative day.

Playing in theaters now! See my artwork in a new movie – The Whale starring Brendan Fraser.
I’ve been busy slashing prices in my eBay store and on Etsy. Some artwork I have marked down to only $10 or $15. I’m trying to clear out older paintings, so I have room for the new ones.
As always, if you want to say hello or have any questions you can write me here. I love getting email, and hearing from you.
